ACTION OF THE UNIONS. DECLINE TO WITHDRAW PICKETS. United Press Association. Copyright SYDNEY, Jan. 13. The unions have declined to withdraw pickets, which is required by the Proprietary Company, precedent to a conference with Judge Higgins. Broken Hill was quieter yesterday than for manv days. The proceedings at the Trades Hall lacked enthusiasm. A further trolley load of provisions was taken to the mine. A small crowd watched - the proceedings in silence. One man called out an opprobrious name to tlve driver and was arrested, but the onlookers made no attempt at rescue. ANOTHER BOMB ATTEMPT. AN INDIGNATION MEETING. (Received Jan. 14, 1 a.m.j c ' - SYDNEY, Jan. 13. Another bomb was exploded at Block 10 reserve. No damage was done. A- man arrested in connection with the recent riot was fined 30s on a 'charge of using insulting language. The Mayor of Broken Hill presided over a large indignation meeting, at which a resolution was carried expi essing disgust at the attitude of the police and at their ( ‘brutal assaults on law-abiding citizens.? 5 Strong condemnatory speeches were made.
