BRITISH TRADE.

WINSTON CHURCHILL’S PREDICTION.

A YEAR OF COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL RECOVERY.

United Press Association, Copyright (Received Jan. 15, 9.15 p.m.)

LONDON, Jan. 15

Mr. Winston Churchill, addressing the Leicester Chamber of Commerce, said that there was a general concensus of opinion that the bottom of the trade depression had been reached. No unfavorable conditions were apparent which were lively to retard recovery. Though the next session of Parliament would deal with important questions of finance, he knew of nothing which would justify the trading and manufacturing classes apprehending any financial injury to smooth/ active business enterprise. He therefore predicted that 1909 would be a year of commercial and industrial recovery.
