THE WAIROA OARNIVAL—SECOND DAY. (Press Association.) WAIROA, Jan. 20. The second day’s racing was well patronised. The racing was distinctly good, and the acceptances excellent for nearly every event, but as on the previous day there was a groat deal of trouble in starting tile events. The weather was extremely warm, but not unpleasant. In the Electric Handicap a hank outsider pulled off the event. The 'amount put through the totalisatox was £2460. THE WELLINGTON RACES. BLUE RIBBON WINS THE CUP. (Press Association.) WELLINGTON, J.an. 20. The weather was fine and the attendance large, and the track in excellent condition for the opening of the summer meeting of the Racing Club.' The success of Blue Ribbon in the Cup was very popular, as she was a strong second favorite. ' Gold Crest started in the Telegraph Hantlibut ran unplaced, Tumut effecting a surprise.
