Governor Walker, of Bavao, Moreland , in the Philippines, describe's the care fully-planned spearing to death of a child, sacrificed to the gods to appease evil spirits. Death was almost instantaneous. The body was chopped into bits, and everyone present was allowed to take a small portion as a memento. .<.ne remainder was buried. The natives participating in the act have been sentenced to Jong terms of imprisonment. They were unaware of wrong-doing. The sentences have been suspended conditionally on the practice being stopped.
