REGULATION OF STRIKES.
A CHECK ON UNIONS. ACTION OF NEW SOUTH WALES LABOR COUNCIL. United Press Association, Copyright SYDNEY, Jan. 22. The Labor, Council has not finished the discussion of a resolution modifying the previously .adopted general strike motion new regulation. It proposes that no union shall order members to cease work or take any action calculated, to involve the affiliated unions in an industrial trouble without first affording the Council an
apportnnity of investigating, with the view of securing a peaceful settlement where practicable. It is explained that tlio intention was to prevent unions prematurely commencing a strike before consulting the Council, and then coming to the Council. Jtfv financial assistance. The Council despatched two delegates to Broken Hill to investigate the trouble with a view to future action.
