Tlio usual weekly meeting of tile Management Committee of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association was held last evening in the British (Empire Hotel, Mr. R. G. Haifamoro ingA‘ letter was received from the Tokomaru Club, stating that they were sending a team to Gisborne, to* arrive on Sunday next, and asking for three or more matches against Gisborne elevens, and one against the Mobu Club. Messrs H. G. Rose and AY. Gibson wore deputed to communicate with the Tokomaru and Motu Clubs, and arrange fixtures for both visiting teams. ■ . Mr. 'H. ;E. Maude was elected >a member of the Selection Committee., vice .Hill-. iR. W. Gary. It nvd s decided to postpone the Thursday competition matches until after the visit of the Tokomaru and Motu Clubs, and it was resolved to hold a practice match at Victoria Domain to-morrow afternoon for alll players who attended. A lengthy discussion took place on the condition of the turf wicket, and eventually it was decided to give the present groundsman a week’s notice, and to appoint Mr. J. Monk to the position. The. lion, secretary was instructed to order two sets of canvas sightscreens for use at Victoria Domain.
Mr. J‘. H. Wiack was appointed to ascertain what flayers would he available to play against the,, Tokoanaru eleven iat Victoria Domain in all-day matches on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next. All players who wish to take part in these matches are requested to immediately forward their names to Mr. Wack, stating on which day or days they will he able to play, in order that the local teams may be selected. ■The following is the Wanderers’ team to play Taruhcru on Saturday : Lasker, Rennie, Babbs, McConnell, McColl, Cummings, Maude, Scroggio.
