At the Turanganui Club’s green yesterday afternoon, great interest was manifested in a game in the Colts’ Singles and -a. game in the finals for the Handicap Pairs, when the winners of sections A and B played off. A splendid game was witnessed, the -result being:—• HANDICAP PAIRS.

Martin (skip) 21. —In this game the former pair received 4 points of a handicap, hut on the 3rd head Martin and his partner Iliad matters oven —5 all. 'Then again the pairs were level on the IjOth head —14 all, 13th head —17 all, loth (head—lß all, and 18th head —20 asl. On the 19th and 20th heads Sawyer and his mate obtained singles, Martin thus requiring 2 to tie. and 3 to win on the 'last head. A couple of southern howlers at the New iZealland Bowling Association’s tournament amused themselves and the crowd of spectators on the Canterbury Green on thejmorning of January 22nd by playing a “blindfold championship.” Each bowler was blindfolded, put in position on the .mat, and invited to draw the shot. Somo of their attempts were ludicrous in the extreme. One player found the side ditch fairly consistently in the first head, while the other’s bawls, roamed at large over tbe green. In the. second head both men put -tup really good performances, getting within quite, respectable distance of the elusive kitty. The “championship” went to Payne, with tiro points. Campbell, whose last bawl had a ileg too many, filled second place.
