A CHRISTCHURCH FATALITY.

SUPPOSED -RESULT' OF A BLOW. [Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 5. m . Thomas (Saunders, a young lining' who received a blow behind the ear in a Sumner hotel on January 20th, died in the hospital to-day. On the date mentioned Saunders, when coming out of the hotel, tripped over a dog belonging to Alex. Kiddy, and it is alleged that the last-named struck the blow which lias proved fatal. Kiddy was before, the Court on Wednesday charged with having assaulted Saunders. He admitted having pushed Saunders, but- stated that, he did not strike him. This was corroborated, and the case was y*' dismissed. The Coroner has ordered s a post mortem examination, and it is probable that an inquest will be held.
