BOWLING.

THE TURANGANUI CLUB

An interesting match in the handicap pairs of the Turanganui Bowling Club was concluded yesterday evening, when Somervell and Sawyer met McPherson and Ratcliffe. The former had to concedo five points to their opponents. The match began on Saturday, when Sawyer, in the first six heads, scored 9, to Ratcliffe’s nil. The latter then began to score, and on the IGtli head the totals, with the aid of Ratcliffe’s handicap allowance, were equal, the scores being 16 all. Yesterday, after a ding-dong fight, Ratcliffe added five points to his score while Sawyer made a. couple. The final score was Ratcliffe 21, Sawyer 18. This result places Ratcliffe, Martin, and Sawyer equal in the competition. Ratcliffe has to meet Martin, and if the former goes down there will have to be another draw.
