Nominator of winner to be presented with a bracelet valued at 10 sovs. Rider of winner to receive a silver-mounted whip (gentlemen riders). Minimum weight list. Horses to lie nominated by ladies. Horses to he owned and trained in tiie Wairoa County for throe months prior to date of race meeting. Nightingale, Napier, on Thursdav, 18th March. 1909. HACK 'DEFINITION—No horse eligible to start in a hack race that lias won a race ot the value of 20 sovs at time of starting. No horse shall be allowed to start unless all nomination lees have been paid. PERMITS. —Permits will be issued to approved Bookmakers at £5 5s each. Permits must be obtained from the Secretary before 11.30 a.m. on the day of races.. .Bookmakers plying their occupation without permission will be removed and prosecuted. MINIAIUAI WElGHT.—Minimum weight in all events excepting Maiden Scurry and Ladies’ Bracelet, 9st. PROTESTS. Protests, if any, must be made in writing and handed’ to the Secretary within 15 minutes after the first horse passes the post. A deposit of £2 must accompany each protest, such deposit to be forfeited ii the protest be not sustained. No entry will be received for any race except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided bv\a majority of the stewards.
