MAGISTERIAL.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15. (Before • Messrs R. Johnston and V. Pyke, J.’sP.) DRUNKENNESS. Five victims of liquor made their appearance in the dock, .and were convicted, -a fine of 5s and 2s costs, or 24 hours’ imprisonment, being imposed in each case. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Albert Jas. McDonald pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly behaviour while drunk. Sergt. Hutton said that the charge was the outcome of a disturbance raised by accused at the Albion Hotel on Saturday. When arrested, acwioed was very violent, and continued so for a long time, eventually falling into a series of fits, necessitate/ medical -attention. Accused was convicted and -fined 10s and 2s costs, and was also ordered to pay 13s 6d medical expenses, in default four days’ imprisonment. REFUSING TO QUIT PREMISES. A further charge of having refused to quit the licensed premises, of tlio Albion Hotel was brought against McDonald. On the application of Sergt. Hutton this case -was remanded'until tomorrow. ■ PROCURING LIQUOR. Charges of procuring liquor while under prohibition were preferred against Robert Orbell and John Ryan, and these wre also remanded until to-morrow. ALLEGED ASSAULT. Lee Clioy proceeded against TitRewi Haapu on a charge of alleged assault. Mr. J. R. Kirk appeared for the plaintiff", and Mr. H. J. Finn for the defendant. Mr. Kirk applied for an adjournment, and with the consent of counsel for tb<> defendant, a remand was granted until March Ist.
