POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION. Air. R. Thelwall presided at the usual weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay Cricket Associaiton last evening. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs R/Thelwall, J. 11. AVack, J. Lang, and W. Gibson was appointed to ascertain what players were available for a trip to Tokonnaru this season. It was reported that the Motu team would visit Gisborne on the 4th, sth, and 6tli March. The draw for the wickets at Victoria Domain resulted as follows: Turf, Te Rau v. United; concrete, Cosmopolitan v. Union.

The. selectors have chosen AVhitty, McAlitser, Carkeek, Gregory, and Bardsley to corrqdete the Australian Eleven. Hopkins is recommended for fifteenth man Hill strongly objected to tlie. choice of McAlister and Caokeek, and urged Gelir’s claims. He told the selectors lie did not think tlic best men were chosen, and that lie intended to wash his hands of the whole affair.
