A VICTORIA COLLEGE APPOINTMENT.
THE FIRST NEW ZEALAND RHODES SCHOLAR. (Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. At to-night’s' meeting of the Victoria College Council, Mr. John Allan Thomson, B.Se. (X.Z.), and B.A. (Oxford), the first New Zealand Rhodes scholar, and a son of Mr. Thomson. ALP. lor Dunedin North, was appointed lecturer in geology and demonstrator in biology. Mr. Thomson is at present lecturer in geology at St. John's College. Oxford. Air. F. P. Wilson, ALA., was appointed lecturer in economics, and toii’ght be banded in bis resignation as a member of the College Council.
