NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 17. About 4 o’clock, this morning a fire occurred at tlve Taranaki Petroleum Company’s works. Three tanks and about 60 barrels' of crude petroleum were destroyed, about 10,000 gallons in all. The fencing and sheds were also destroyed, but the wind fortunately saved the derrick and other buildings. a[TOKLANDi Feb. 17. } A fire at Komata destroyed Wilson’s store, aerated water factory, and house. The insurance was £6OO in the Royal*. The damage is estimated at £lo °°‘ HAMILTON, Feb. 17. A fire early this morning partly destroyed tho bankrupt stock recently purchased by McFarlane and Co m the premises lately occupied by Lmdsav draner. The origin of the outbreak is a mystery. The insurance on the stock was £4OO in the Australian Alliance and £4OO in the Guardian. Alliance a HASTIjNGSj Fcb . 17. A fire last night destroyed a sixroomed house owned by J. C. Hill, and occupied by Mrs. H. Chnsbiau, Ihe insurances were: Building £3OO m the Australian Alliance; furniture £lOl in the Northern.
