EMPLOYMENT FOR CARPENTERS.
TRADESMEN WANTED IN BRISBANE. [Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Feb: 17. Frequent complaints have recently ,'Oen made that there is a dearth of '.T.ployment in New Zealand for carpenters. The following might be good hews for carpenters who are out or .vork in the Dominion. A gentleman, ■.veil known in business circles in the city, is in receipt of correspondence from a large building contractor in Brisbane, who states that just now there is a bit of a boom in the building trade in Brisbane, with the result that there is a dearth of tradesmen. “1 understand that things in New Zealand at the present time are dull, and that trade is fairly slack. I know that during the time of depression here a good many Queensland workmen went over to your Dominion in search of employment, and possibly if they knew that things were on the" up grade here they would come back again.”
