SWIMMING.
GISBORNE SWIMMING CLUB
A general meeting-of the Gisborne Swimming Club was held in tlio MainSchool, Gisborne, last evening, Air. Rowley in the chair. A large amount of business Avas transacted, viz., election of captain and vice-captain, holding sports meeting, and other general business. Mr. Chas. Morse Avas ■unanimously elected captain, and Mr. J. McLean viceTcaptain. It Avas decided to hold a sports carnival on Saturday, March 20th, and the programme of events is to be drawn up without delay. It is the intention of the committee to hold a few races before the carnvial, probably two a week, for Avhich trophies Avill be gKen; further notice of such races will be published later.
