Mr. Newberry, Secretary for the Navy, has submitted to the House of Representatives’ Committee on Naval Affairs plans for four battleships of 25,000 tons each, four scout cruiseis, four submarines, ten destroyers,, three colliers, a repair ship, and an ammunition ship, calling altogctlici for an expenditure of about £15,000,000/ " ‘ / ' • The new battleships are to carry twelve -14 in. guns, and will he the largest warships in existence.
