FRENCH CUSTOMS TARIFF.
ADVICE EO BRITISH GOVERNMENT. RETALIATION ADVOCATED. United Press Association. Copyhight LONDON, Feb. 26. The Advisory Committee ‘of the Board of Trade urged the Government to take prompt and decisive action regarding the revised French tariff. It > was stated that several members advocated some form of retaliation unless a substantial modification was secured.
A FRENCH GOVERNMENT PROPOSAL. THE DUTY ON FROZEN MEAT. (Received Feb. 28, 4.30 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 27. Among the tariff details in the dispute between the French Government and the Parliamentary Committee is one respecting frozen meat. The latter urge a 50 francs general tariff. The Government urge a duty of 35 francs out of consideration to the Canadian Convention.
