GISBORNE GAS COMPANY.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Gisborne Gas Company was held at the Company’s office on Friday evening. Captain Ohrisp presided and moved the adoption of the report and balancesheet. In doing so he congratulated the shareholders on the succe. s of the company’s operations for the y r ear, stating the increase in the consumption had been over 15 per ant. He pointed out that in consequence considerable additions to plant would be found necessary'. He that he desired to be relieved of Hie chairmanship. The motion was seconded by Mr Cuthbert and agreed to. The retiring directors, Messrs Bushnell, To mi ley, McLoughlin, and the auditors, Messrs J. H. Evans and H. M. Porter were re-elected.
The meeting, especially the directors, expressed regret at the intimation of the chairman’s wish to retire, and pressed Upon him to reconsider his decision. V
It was moved by Mr Evans and seconded by Mr Mathc-wson, .that 100 guineas bo voted to Captain Chrisp for his past services of 27 years association with the interests of the company. The motion was carried unanimously' and the chairman suitably replied. At a subsequent meeting of directors, Mr J. T. Evans was elected chairman of directors.
