ENTERTAINMENTS.

miss Rosemary rees

All arrangements are now complete for tilt 1 complimentary welcome to be tendered to Mi; 1 Rosemary Rees, at His Majesty’s theatre on Wednesdayevening) and tli? booking already recorded at the 1; x office augurs well for a crowded 1: uise. The following short synopsis ol two of the plays to be produced will give our readers an idea of the fare to be presented. In the farcical sketch “A Judicial Separation,” Algv and Betty Sharland, a newly-married and rather foolish young couple quarrel violently over a fancy Betty proposes wearing at some amateur theatricals. Fortunately they both fly for sympathy and help to their friend Margaret Wilding, who listens to a recital of the grievances of first one and then the other, and finds a way to set things right. Miss Rosemary Rees plays Betty, Mrs- Frank Kennedy the sympathetic friend Margaret A\ lldmg, and Mr Max Jackson appears as Algy. “The New Gun”'is a complete contrast to the opening piece. In this some thrilling moments are provided for the audience by the patriotism 01 an Englishwoman prepared to -guard her husband’s newly invented electric •gun, at the risk of her life, and the determination of a French spy to obtain the model of the gun, and to shrink from'no violence in getting it. WEST’S PICTURES. On Saturday night there was a fairlv large audience in 'His Majesty's Theatre to witness the concluding exhibition in Gisborne of West’s Picture entertainment. There was a- complete change of programme, which was evidently thoroughly enjoyed by tho audience. The members of the company left last night for Napier, where they commence a season this evening.
