POVERTY BAY CLUB—ANNUAL MEETING. , , Tlie annual general meeting of the' Poverty Bay Golf Club was held in' the Farmers’ Union Club rooms. Masonic Buildings, last evening. There was' a good attendance of members,' and Mr. Geo. Grant. Vice-president, presided. The hon. secretary and treasurer, 'Mi*. J. M. Curtis, presented the an-’ filial balance-sheet. The receipts for the year amounted to £IBO 6s 6d and the expenditure to £93 15s 4d, showing a profit on the year’s working of £B6 11s 2d. Tlie bank balance at date amounted to £145 15s 7d. Assets amounted to s AIS9 10s 2d, and liabilities to .£9 15s.
Tho Chairman moved the . adoption of the balance-sheet, which was seconded by Mr. Howard Ivenwav and carried. . ... Tho Chairman said ho agreed with tlie suggestion that those members who bad not paid their .subscriptions for the past two . years . should be struck'off; the roll. • , Mr. H. J. Bull agreed tins course should bo : adopted, and was prepared to move to that effect. It was eventually agreed to leave the matter to the committee. ..
The- election of officers was then proceeded with, and . resulted as follows:—President, Mr. R. J. nolds; vice-president, Air. G. Grant; captain, Air. H. J. Bull; hon. secretary, _Mr. F./H. W. Traill j hon. treasurer, Mr. W. G. Evans; general committee, Alessrs J. Howie, H-. Kenway, A. H. Wallis, Geoff. Willock, F. W. Nolan, W. 11. Barker, W. F. J, Anderson and A, T. Coleman; f'reen committee, Alessrs J. H. Bull, Geoff. Willock, and F. H. W. Ttaill; non. auditor, Air. W. B. Willock. On the motion of Mr. Symes, seconded by the Chairman, a vOIC of thanks was carried, amidst applause, to. the outgoing officers,,- and especially, to “the hon. secretary. The following, new members were elected: Alessrs Tliooey, J. R. Kirk, L» -T. Burnard, and Dodgshun. Mr. R. J. Reynolds was unanimously elected a life member of the club. ' Mr. Bull reported that the subcommittee had had the new course laid out, and that it would be ready for play by Easter. A vote of thanks was passed to those gentlemen who had given the dub the right to play over their ground in the past, and a hearty vote of thanks was also carried by acclamation to the ladies for their hospitality in providing afternoon tea during the past season.
