I Adverse weather conditions affected the attendance on the last day of the V.R.C. autumn meeting. The racing was good. Rain fell during the third race. The Mowing were the results of the racing: Elms Handicap, 200sovs, 7 furlongs. —Monodist 1, Doughty 2, Perilous 3. The winner led all the way, and won by half-a-length. Time, lmin 39sec. Select Stakes, GOOsovs, 7 furlongs. —Mala 1, Sperry 2, Santos 3. Mala had the field well held the whole distance, and won easily. Time, lmin Olsec. Place Handicap, 400sovs, 11 miles. —Mana 1, Nushka 2, Lady Wilde 3. Won by half-a-neck. Time, 2min 381 sec. (Received March 0, 7.45 p.m.) Autumn Steeplechase, of 400sovs, about 3 miles. —Seymour 1, Decoration 2, Postboy 3. Champion Stakes, of lOOOsovs, 3 miles. —Pendil 1, Signor 2, Trafalgar 3. Ten others started. Signor led the field all the way round to the judge’s box. At the abattoirs Signor was still leading by two lengths from Pendil. The latter and Trafalgar were together at the five furlong post, Pendil racing half-a-length behind Signor. Entering the straight, Pendil made a magnificent effort, and headed Signor, and after a hard race along the straight won by a head, third horse ten lengths away. Time, Grain 4sec.
