GISBORNE CLUB

The green of the Gisborne Bowling Club was in capital ol der on Saturday afternoon, and tho|e members wlio attended enjoyed some very interesting play. One match game was got off, between Pavitt and T. Clarkson, in the Champion Cup competition. It resulted' in favor of the former by two points after a very good contest. Pavitt held a lead of half-a-dozen points on the seventeenth head, the score being 18 to 12. Clarkson got in all four bowls on the IStli head, and scored a single on. the 19th. Pavitt got in a couple on the twentieth, and Clarkson gained another single on the twenty-first-. Pavitt thus won by 20 points to.. 18. Two rink matches were played, and, by a not very common coincidence, iii each the totals were even on, tlie 21st head, and tli winners scored a single on the additional head. The players and scores were as follows: —

Redstone, Boulton, Paltridge. Dodd (skip) 23 beat Davies, H. Lewis, AY. Pettie, lvyme (skip) 17. Wootton. Birss, Benzie, AA T itty (skip) 23 beat Fothergill,. Pavitt, Wilson, Hookey (skip) 22.
