LORENZO MARQUES. * RAILWAY AND PORT TO BE TAKEN OVER BY BRITISH. United Press Association. Copyright (Received March 8, 9.25 p.m.) DURBAN, March 8. The “Natal Mercury” reports that an agreement has been signed at Johanesburg, whereby Lorenzo Marques, railway and port, will be taken over by the British as, part of the union railway system. The agreement provides for Delagoa Bay to receive 50 per cent of the Transvaal import trade. [Lorenzo Marques is a Portuguese town on Delagoa Bay, East Africa. The port is the finest natural harbor in that, p l art of the continent. The railway, to Pretoria, was built by an English company under concessions from the Portuguese. Government.]
