SHEEP DOG TRIALS.

POVERTY BAY CLUB. The committee of the Poverty Bay Sheep Dog Trial Club met at Ormond on Saturday night. There was a good attendance, and Mr. J. A. Caesar presided. It was decided that the programme be the same as last year, with the addition, if time permits, of a. driving class. Post entries will be taken for this event, and the prizes will be £3, £2, and £l. Messrs G. Hinton, E. W. Bousfiold, A. Calcott, and A. Wright were appointed a sheep committee, and Messrs J. Herbert and D. McKenzie a committee to get the competitors quickly off the mark. Mr. E. 4Y. Bilharn was appointed timekeeper. It was decided to .hold a social on the night of-the first day of the trials, and the usual smoke concert on the Saturday evening. A pavilion will be erected, and afternoon tea will be provided for lady visitors on Thursday afternoon. The'secretary stated that the .gentlemen who donated prizes on previous years had again responded in a. liberal manner, and several donations were received. The following new rule was made : “Any competitor more than fivo minutes late after his name is called may bo disqualified, unless a satisfactory reason is given for his non-appearance.”
