WELLINGTON, March 0. An invitation from Trinity Clmrch, Dunedin, to hold the 1910 conference, was accepted by the Methodist Conference, yesterday, the date of the opening being fixed at February 24th. The conference passed in silence a motion of regret at the death of the Rev. T. E. Thomas, M.A., of Leeston circuit, and of sympathy with the family. ' Revised figures relating to the Methodist Foreign Mission were read by the Rev. G. N. Buttle, showing that the total amount received during the year was £2912 3s Bd, including a donation of £729 11s 8d towards the boat fund, showing an increase compared with the previous year of £742 8s lOd. It was decided to discontinue the foreign missionarv report, arid to greatly enlarge and amplify the Homo Mission annual report. 'The observance of Temperance Sunday was fixed for the last Sunday in November. It was reported hv the Rev. S. Bull that £254 6s Id had been received by the Building Church and Loan Fund during the year as profit from the sale of the Methodist hymn book. It- was decided to recommend to the incoming president that the next ordination service be abbreviated. The report upon the “Outlook” was received, and by 41 votes to 22 it was decided to set up a special committee to consider means of establishing a connexion a! organ in place of the' arrangement by which a portion of the “Outlook” is reserved for Methodist news.

A cablegram was received from Dr Mot-lev, of the Victorian Conference, stating the Rev. - C. Tregear’s willingness to come to AA ellington for special mission work as desired by the New Zealand conference; also stating that an exchange would have to be provided. It is now for ministers in the Dominion willing to go to Victoria to at once communicate with tlu» New Zealand president.
