VOLCANIC ERUPTION.
AfOCJNT NGAURUHOE ACTIVE. [Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 9. The Post Office has received advice from the postmaster at Karioi, stating that Mount Ngauruhoe is in active eruption, large clouds of smoke being emitted. Sulphurous dust has fallen, covering tho ground with a thin c-oating to a depth of one-sixteenth of an inch.
