THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT
A MENAGERIE OF INCOMPETENCE. A TARIFF REFORMER’S OPINlw*.. United Press Association. Copyright MELBOURNE, March 9. Mr. Burgoyne, connected with the English Tariff Reform League,'-who is on a visit to Melbourne,, speaking at the annual meeting of the Imperial Federation League, said the British Government was at present a menagerie of incompetence. The members of it were angels: of incompetence, crowned with a halo of sanctimonious humbug. He only wished the Mother Country thought as well of the colonics as the colonies thought of the Mother Country. There was no doubt colonials thought twice as well of Englishmen as Englishmen thought of colonials.
