Armstrong, Whitworth and Co., Newcastle, and Vickers, Son, and 1 Maxim, Barrow, have almost completed the erection of steel works in Japan for gun-forging. Tho Japanese Government intend purchasing tho works. The Japanese Admiralty will manage them, assisted by English experts. Japan has ordered Armstrong, Whitworth 'and Co. /a large number of gun mountings.
