BOWLING.

TURANGANUI CLUB. At the Turanganui Club’s green yesterday afternoon a strong muster of players assembled, and a thoroughly enjoyable- afternoon was spent. No match games were played, but a number of full rinks games eventuated. The green played very keen, and without doubt at the present time it is one of the very keenest in the Dominion. Afternoon tea was provided by Airs. S'killicorn, who was assisted by Aliss Skiliicorn and Airs. Tylee, the refreshments being much appreciated. HANDICAP SINGLES. Entries are now being taken for Handicap Singles, closing to-morrow, for a pair oi bowls, presented by Alessrs Stewart and Co., Wellington. GISBORNE CLUB. The members of the G’sborne Club mustered in st.’ong force yesterday afternoon, and ti e green was in capital order. Consequently some very interesting play took place. The results were as f.llows: Cham] ."on Cup. J. J. Alartin Id, loat Eure lo. — This match was vt.y evenly contested throughout. Handicap Singles. G. Iv. Aliller (6) 26, beat Hookey (3) 17. Alartin Aledals (Handicap Fours). AA'ilson, T. Adair, Kyme (sub), Corson (skip) 17, beat Redstone. Cussens (sub), Williams, Hennessy (skip) 10. — Each team received the same handicap, 3 points. Corson secured a lead early in the game, and despite Hennessy’s plucky up-hill fight, won by tho .substantial majority of seven points. Boulton, Hansen, Lewis, J. J. Alartin (sub) (skip) 26, beat Townson, O’Aleara, G. Aliller, T. A. Crawford (sub) (skip) 19. —Each rink was handicapped at scratch. Alartin ed throughout. On the 17th head ho was 21 to Crawford's IS. The latter only scored a single in the remaining heads, while Alartin increased his total by five.

Another game in the competition, between rinks skipped by Simson and AI. Craig, was partly played. Tin’s will complete the first round of the Alartin medals.

A number of practice games were also played. 1
