SWIMMING.

GISBORNE CLUB.

A meeting of tho Gisborne Swimming Club was held in tin* Gisborne School last evening, when final arrangements respecting tne carnival to be held next Saturday were made. Air. R. Moree was elected a member of committee, vice All*. Curtis, resigned.

The following gentlemen were appointed as officials at the carnival: Starter, Air. C. Hamilton; check starter, Air. W. Howard; judges, Alessrs A. F. Kennedy, F. Parker, J. W. .Bright, D. J. Burry, A. Thomas, and C. O. Morse; time-keepers, Messrs L. Williams-, R. Alorse, 11. C. "Mackintosh, and J. Cramp; handicappers, Alessrs C. O. Alorse, J. AlcLean, and the secretary; umpire, Air. J. J. Martin:; costume steward, Air. L. Redward; result board, Air. D. Cowan. The cemniitte have placed a new spring-board in -position, and have also erected a high-diving apparatus. Book programmes are being printed, and will be sold at 3d each. .It was decided to- have a “diving for objects” event to t.he programme. Intending competitors are reminded that entries close on Thursday evening. A large number of poster programmes have been distributed, and everything is being clone to make the. carnival a success. Afternoon tea will be provided free.
