CALCUTTA, March 16
A picric acid bomb was discovered within -a law book sent to Mr. Ki#gsfoid. when he was chief magistrate oi Calcutta, .-so arranged that upon his cutting a string it exploded a detonator of fulminate of mercury. Mr. K.ingsford. who was rthe object of the M.uzarferpore explosion of May 2nd. did not open the boc/k, believing it to be a book he had lent to a friend, until the springs rusted, and rendered the explosives harmless. # The bomb found in the newspaper " “Englishman's” .pffi.ee was obtained at the .Government factory.
