PERSONAL.
Mr. W. E. Holder has been appointedvaccination inspector tor the newly-con-stituted district of Tologa Bay. Mr Charles Pratt, secretary to Messrs Poke Brothers, Matakana, arrives this afternoon by the Manuka. He intends, spending a few days in Gisborne prior to his departure on V, ednesday next, the 21th inst., for (Sydney, where he will join the Orient Company’s steamer Asturias, for a short holiday with h:s relatives in the Old Country. Mr. Pratt expects to return early in October next. Messrs G. H. Lighiioot, H. E. 3loi> ton, and W. H. Westbrooke, are gazetted inspectors of factories. E. E. Booth, of the “AllBlaek” team which went- Home in 190-5, is reported to be .playing well for Leicester. « It is not unlikely that Surrey’s" brilliant wicket-keeper, will be granted a benefit in lull. Tor some time past it has been an open secret that he will not continue county cricketfor many more years, owing to a desire to settle in New Zealand. Mr G. F. Gee, who has been manager of the National Bank at Wellington for 15 rears, retires shortly and will live in England. Mr J. G. Stott is his successor. Mr Hamilton Hodges, the well-known baritone, of Auckland, has definitely - decided to leave New Zealand and proceed to England, where he has several verv tempting engagements offered him. Great regret will be felt at the loss to New Zealand of so fine a singer.
