ATTITUDE OF TRADES COUNCIL. At a meeting of the local Trades and Labor Council on Saturday evening, tlie matter of having Representation on tho Gisborne School Committee was introduced.. . .It won' pointed out. .that Labor -was interested in uniform or free school bocks, and that Labor should bo hear-d on the question. The matter of Bible-reuding in schools did not affect: Labor, and the Council should have an open ‘mind on the subject. A motion,. "That the Council -nominate two candidates for the approaching Gisborne School Committee election,’’ .was car-. rifccF unanimously.
