WAIAPU SHEEP DOG TRIAL CLUB.

ANNUAL TRIALS'. The annual trials in connection with the Waiapu Sheep Dog Trial Club were continued at Mangakmo, Tuparoa, on Saturday, under weather conditions much more favorable than those on the opening“day. Tho officials again worked energetically to secure tho success of tho gathering. There was a very satisfactory attendance, including a. number of ladies. The following were the results of tho competitions:—, Class II. —Heading, bring back am] yard (47 competitors): A. McKay’s Toss, 27 points, 1; A. D. Smaie’s Turk, 25 points, 2; K. P. McDonald’s Dick, 2-4 points, 3; W.' E. Hauraka’s Tui, 23 points, 4; C. Tylden’s Jet, 22 points, 5. The following special prizes have been won : Mr. J. H. McNeil’s £1 Is for dog showing most style in heading and pulling crossbred or shy sheep, Sullivan’s Top; Mr. W. Oate’s 10s for quickest head, Sullivan’s Fly; Tokomaru Farmers’ Co-operative Association’s prize of £1 Is in Class 1., for competitor who hag not won a prize at any previous trials scoring most points •over 15 with one dog, Drabble’s Spark. Class 111. —Hunt-away (48 competitors) : C. Tylden’s Star, 27 points, 1; R. Mead’s Pe-arl, 25 points, 2; K. P. McDonald’s Dark, 24 points, 3; W. Waititi’s Jack. 23 points, 4, ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the club was held at Tuparoa on Saturday The balance-sheet, which was adopted, * showed tho assets of the club to be £27 Is 6d, including £2O Is 61 cash in hand: tho liabilities were nil. The retiring office-bearers were reelected, and the committee was strengthened by tlie addition of five new members. It was decided to hold the trials next year at Mangakino. The secretary was instructed to write to Mr. T. S. Williams thanking him for tlie valuable assistance he has rendered to the club by granting the use of his paddock for the trials.
