THE BOROUGH ELECTION.
TRADES COUNCIL’S NOMINEES
A special meeting of the East Coast Trades and Labor Council -was held on Saturday evening, to consider the attitude of the Council in regard to the approaching borough election. There was a full-a-ttendanec of delegates, Mr. M. G. Nasmith, jnr (President) occupying the chair. A full discussion took place in regard to tho platform of the Council in the approaching election, and six or seven planks were laid down, on the motto of “Progress with economy.” It was decided to issue 1 -the platform during the coming week. It was resolved to announce the nominees of-the Council as follows Messrs M. G. Nasmith junr, J. H. Hall, and T. B. Sweet. .. A committee of the whole Council was appointed to further the interests of their candidates. .. -
Reference was made to the closing of the roll on Wednesday, and tall were urged to do their utmost to get qualified voters on the roll. . '
