THE EASTER CAMP.

TO BE RUN ON INSTRUCTION LINES. - . "

(Press Association.)

Wellington; March. 20. The volunteer camp to be held at Oringi, during Easter, will be run on instruction lines, and it is. expected some 2000 volunteers will be present. The idea is that the force consists of a mobile column providing its own defence and transport, and the work provided will be of a nature that such a force might reasonably expect to have to carry out under active service conditions. To give an- “air of verisimilitude” to actual conditions, it is laid down in the scheme that a state of war exists with a neighboring power, and that hostile troops have landed at Porangahau, presumably with the intention of seizing the Woodville railway junction. The local troops have been mobilised, and anticipating seizure of the junction, have pushed forward, reaching Oringi at 3 p.m. on Friday, 9th April. What happens then yet remains to be seen, but it is xmderstood the programme is full of surprises.
