TRIAL MATCH. There was a disappointing attendance at the trial match called for Saturday afternoon at Victoria Domain, only thirteen senior players rolling up. Oniy one member of the selection committee (Mr. Hallamore) was present on the ground. Practice will Jie held each evening this week at Victoria Domain, and if the local players wish to make anything like a creditable stand against tiie strong team .which arrives from Auckland on April 7th they should take, every opportunity of getting into form. AUCKLAND MATCHES. (Press Association.) The eleventh round of. the Auckland Cricket Association’s district championship was commenced yesterday in dull -weather and on a soft wicket. The play in the senior grade was as follows: Ponsonby v Eden colts—Ponsonb.v, first innings 333 for eight wickets (Hennis 41. Woods 161). North Shore v. Eden A.—North Shore first innings . 142 Hadden 77, Kallender 26); Robinson took three wicket® for 17 runs : Eden A 46 for three wickets (Cummings 19). University v. City.—University, first innings 61 (Wallace 15); Harvie _took eteht wickets for 38 runs; City. 87 for eight wickets (Gleeson 36, MacCormick 29, not out). Parnell v. Grafton.— Parnell, first innings 131 (Hutchings 67. Hartland 22, Kerr 19, not out); Eastgate took three wickets for. 19 runs. Hill three for 22, and liorspool two for 16. ■ . The Auckland Cricket Association lias decided that this round shall be the last of the present season. The North Shore District Club teams have won the senior and second-grade championships, and the Grafton team the third grade, the positions of the teams being such that the results or the present round -cannot affect the icsuits.
