WANGANUI RUGBY UNION
WANGANUI, March 28
The annual meeting of the Wanganui Rugby Union was held on Saturday evening. The report showed a fairly' successful past season, with a slight decrease in the gate receipts. The following officers were elected : President, Mr. Geo. Spriggens; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Wesney and G. Simpson, and Dr. Wall; secretary, Mr. R. Dunldey; treasurer, Air. L. Craig; committee, Messrs G. Thompson, A. Gray, L. Furrie, L. Bassett, B. Ashcroft, and E. Perrett; vice-president of the New Zealand Rugby’Union, Air. G. Spriggens; delegates to New' Zealand Rugby Union, Mr. L. Bassett, and four, others t-o be appointed later. Mr. W. Einpson resigned office as patron and vicepresident of the Ncw r Zealand Rugby Union, and was unanimously elected a life member of the union. A vote of thanks was accorded to Air. J. Hyams for having acted for sixteen years as Wanganui delegate to the New Zealand Rugby Union, on his retirement from office.
