GISBORNE RIFLES.
ORDERS ISSUED. The following orders have been issued by Captain Beere:—The company will parade at the. Garrison Ball, is service uniform, at 7.30 p.m., each evening as tinder: Friday, March 26, April 2nd, 16th, 23rd, 30th. r In future all paradeswill be carried out with a time-table, a copy of which will be placed on the order-board in the hall. N.C.O.’s. who are allotted subjects for various parades will require to study their subjects and be prepared to answer any questions. The following promotions are hereby made: Acting-Corporal McLoughlin to be Acting-Sergeant . No. 2 section; Private Lockie to Acting-Corporal, No. 2 section; Corporal A. Pritchard to be Acting-Sergeant,. No. 4 section ; LanceCorporal Parks to be acting Corporal No. 4 section. All N.C.O.’s. who do not hold certificates for the rank now held by them must inform their halfcompany commanders at once. An examination for two Lance-Corporals will be held early in May; members wishing to compete will give their names to •the Color-Sergeant at once. The following is a copy of the time-table: Friday, March 26th: 7.30 to 8,15 p.m., semaphore, Corporal Lockie; 8.15 to 9 p.m., squad drill, sections; 9 to 9.30 p.m., lecture (musketry), Sergeant Rait. April 2nd: PnysicaL Sergeant McLoughlin; semaphore. Color-Serge-ant Scott-; War game, Captain Beere, April 16th: Fire control, Lieutenant Coleman'; aiming, Sergeant Breingan; discipline, Sergeant McLoughlin. April 23rd: Semaphore, Corporal McGuffie; company formations, officers; advance guards, Sergeant Pritphard. 'April 30th: Physical, Corporal Holmes; knotting, etc., Corporal Higharn; fire effect. Lieutenant Coleman. May 7th: Battalion, with cadets, officers; semaphore, Corporal Lockie; outposts, Lieutenant Mitchell. May 14th: Company, Lieutenant Mitchell; ,physical, section commanders ; war game defence, Color-Ser-geant Scott. May 21st: Quarter guard, Corporal Higham;_ bayonet fighting. Sergeant McLoughlin ; camp sanitation, Surgeon-Captain. May /28th: Semaphore, Corporals Lockie and McGuffie ; bridge building, Captain Beere.; flank guards, Corporal Holmes. June 9th: Battalion, with cadets, officers; fire control, section commanders; entrenchments, Sergeant. Pritchard. June IHh -. Aiming, section commanders; knotting, etc., section commanders; scouting, Corporal Parks. May 18th :-Physical, section commanders;. parts of rifle, section commanders; war game attack, Sergeant, Rait. June 2oth:_ Manual, section commanders;- sketching. Qaptaih Beere. N.C.O.’s, allotted subjects must be prepared to take toem up on the dates fixed.
