PREPARATIONS FOR BORING. The weekly •meeting of the directors of the Gisborne Gib Company was held on Saturday ; present—Messrs Wv D: Lysnar (chairman), J. Clark, F. Hall, W. F. J. Anderson, D. J. Barry, and T. Adair. ' ■ , The Chairman reported that , all the shares except 300 had been taken up by voluntary application, and it was expected that those remaining would be taken up by March 31st, when the share list closes. . ’ A report upon , the progress of the preparations that have been made for boring near Whatatutu was submitted, and it was arrahged_tliat the Chairman and Mr. T. Adair slunild visit the site. Tlje directors decided that when the boring operations were m Mull swing the-i,shareholders should be invited to inspect the machinery at work. the visit will be made about Easter week. Messrs Lysnar and Adair visited Whatatutu as arranged, and _ jounci that the erection of the derrick nau boon completed, and that the machinery was ready to be put into position. Some; 'difficulty had been experienced in getting the boiler over the lull to the site, : but some tackling cent up by train last evening to haul _ the -boiler over the rise.
