Club the use of No. 2 ground on Thursday, until .3 o’clock, and to allow the Civil Service aild City Clubs to occupy [the; ground from 3 o’clock .. onwards. The" Ladies’ Club was also grantedhpermission to practice on No. 2 ground in the evenings. , "A. ...; > ,1 - It' was 'decided t o allow the Civil vice B and;the Y.M;C.A. teams to"play on "No-. 2 ground* on condition that the ground was not required!, for cricket. It was-pointed, out that .it was possible the Waikohu County Cricket Club would be sending"in' _a team to play on Saturday next, and in that event two cricket matches, would be. played on the ■ ground. Definite, .word would be r received f'rfom the country club by Friday next whether they intended playing on Saturday, and the secretary could then inform the hockey players [if the ; ground would be. available, r for them,- : ' . The- Waikohu County Cricket Club asked for an all-day match in town;—lt was decided to suggest. Saturday next or Good Friday as the only available dates. ; ■ - , Arrangements- were then gone - into in connection .with the visit of the Auckland, team, which arrives on April 7th,' and the following committees were appointed : .- —Reception;.' Committee : Messrs W.F/Cederwall (president), H. G. Rose (lion, secretary),; and W.. Gibson ; .umpires: Messrs W. E. Goffe, J. Clark, : R. ' Thelwall, • "Colonel Winter, Captain Ferris, and Mr. F. T. Knight; scorer > Mr. Gordon Witty. It was decided to request- as many cricketers as could attend to welcome the Auckland team on their arrival at the wharf on April 7th.
