A FISHERMENS DISPUTE.
"WAGES FOR TRAWLERS

WELLINGTON, Mar. 30. The award in the. dispute between the Hawke’s Bay Fishermen’s TJnioh and the employers has been hied by the Court "of Conciliation. After setting out and. defining the award for classes'.of trawlers, the hours of labor are stated. From October Ist to March 31st inclusive, a i week’s , work must not exceed 72 hours, and 66 between. June Ist and; September 30th. Wages at per calendar month are set down as follows :—First-class trawlers Master £lB, engineer £lB, mate £lO, first deck hand £9, second -and third deck hands £B, firemen £lO, boys £6, and cook £11; s second-class —Master £l4 10s. engineer £l4 10s, second hand £lO, other men £lO, and boys £B. Third-class —Master, -engineer, second hand, and bpy, as in the second class. In: the. fourth-class the same rates obtain for master and engineer, witli £l2 per month for the deck hand. On trawlers of the first-class .the .mastei ■ and mate are to receive fish-money at the .rate of 3d per cwt., in addition, to their wages, while the first, second, and third decks hands’ share of the fish money will be at the, rate of 2d per cwt. On the second, third, and fourth class trawlers, the, master, engineer and second hand .shall receive fish money at the rate ,of Ik for every 100 bundles of fish caught. The scope of the award applies only to trawlers runningout from tho port of & P ie1 ’ •
