LICENSED VICTUALLERS' SHIELD

At a meeting of the joint committees of the two rowing clubs last night it was decided ... that the races in connection " with the contest be rowed on Saturday afternoon next. The senior race will be rowed ■over the two-mile course on the Taruheru River, the crews leaving the boatfeheds at 3.30. On its completion the juniors will race on the V aimata course, followed by the ton-stone race. 'The points in connection with these races are as follows: —Senior, 3 points; j'-ni-ors and ten-stone, 2 points each. JLhe club securing most points to hold the shield for twelve months. Oific’als: Judge, Mr. D. J. Barry; starts?, Messrs R. D. B. Robinson and J. Webo; timekeepers, Messrs L. F. Williams and H McLernon; umpire, Mr. W. Hacfctett. All the crews have trained assiduously, -the greatest interest is evinced in both sheds, and some capital races should ensue. These races will conclude the rowing season. THE UNIVERSITY BOAT RACE.
