HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB. HASTINGS,' April 3. .At a meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club Metropolitan Committee, tho question of the appointment of stipendiary stewards was discussed. After cosnidering replies from clubs in the Hawke’s Bay district, it was resolved to reply to the Wanganui Club, expressing the opinion that the question was one which should lie dealt with by the Racing Conference, and that the difficulty would be to fin dsuitable persons with the necessary qualifications for such a responsible appointment. HORSES SHIPPED TO AUCKLAND
The racehorses Reservoir, Dardanus and Carron were shipped to Auckland on Saturday morning to take part in the autumn meeting of the Auckland Racing Club.
