CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
AIONTHLY AIEETIXG. The monthly meeting of the Cook County Charitable ATcl Board was held •last evening. Present: Alessrs AV. D. Lysnar (chairman), J.. Somervell, AV: Pettie, J. AVhinray, and Dr. AVilliams. A married woman whose husband is in gaol asked for assistance. The application was favorably entertained, and the question of the amount to-be allowed was left to the Clerk (Air. R. D. B. Robinson) to adjust. The Inspector-General of Hospitals (Dr. ALilintine) forwarded a copy of a system of book-keeping to be adopted by Charitable Aid Boards and of. forms for the annual report. The A r isiting Committee reported that everything at the Old Men’s Home was satisfactory, and the vGustodiaii reported that there were.:L4,inmates in tlie institution. • Messrs Lysnar, Somervell, and Pettie were appointed a committee to prepare the estimates for the approaching year. „ Alessrs Somervell and White , were appointed as the A r isiting Committee for the ensuing month. .. / The Board api>rovc-d of the action of Air. AVhinray in having ah old woman and her half-demented- daughter removed to the Hoine.v Air AA T hinray said the people had sufficient income to almost defray the cost of then* keep. Dr. AVilliams. brought under the notice of the Board the case of an aged woman in receipt of an old age pension who was being 'kept by her daughter. He stated that the woman was in such a mental condition that she needed attendance, -and was too ill to be removed to any home. . The' / Board decided to allow £1 a week towards the cost of a woman attendant. ; !
