HUNTING.

OPENING OF THE SEASON. The opening meet for the 1909 season" of the Poverty Bay j-amt Club took place at Mr. * Chambers’ Repongaere station on Saturday. There was a very good attendance, about 40 ladies and gentlemen being present. The club hunted over the flat in the morning, and killed two hares after exciting runs. Lunch was kindly provided on the hill by Mrs. David Cameron, and after luncheon the club hunted on the hills, finishing about 3.30 p.m. They then returned to the ongaere homestead, where they were hospitably entertained by Mr. Chambers, after an excellent day’s sport.
