TOURNAMENT AT OAMARU. [Per Press Association.] OAMAItU, April 12. The bowling tournament was continued- in beautiful weather. In the citizens’ rink match in the third round Robertson beat Alloo. In the semifinal I). Smith beat Swindley. In the Meadowbank match, Baillie beat Hay. In the Phoenix match, third round, the winners were Fibbes, Pavne, Mills and Weir. In the semi-final Payne beat Fibbes. In the Oainaru match, 2nd round, the winners were Rule and 11. Carson. In the Association pairs, fourth round, tho winners were Harraway, J. Scott, G. P. Mollison, Waddell, and McGregor. In the fifth round Grant beat Mollison. In the last try. third round, the winners were Baillie, Lefevre, Rule, and Johnson. Citizens’ Match, semi-final, Keast heat Harraway. Meadowbank Match, semi-final, Robertson beat Mr-Donald. Phoenix Match, semi-final, Akhnrst beat Bla'kie. Oainaru Match, second round, Lefevre beat Gray. TURANGANUI CLUB. The Match Committee of the Turanganui Bowling Club (Messrs -J. J. Martin, W. O. Sheet, and M. G. Nasrrrth, junr.) met yesterday afternoon, when matters in connection with the Handicap Singles and the Douglas Feathers were discussed. It was resolved in the matter of the unplaved games in the first round of the Handicap Singles, which were to have been completed yesterday afternoon, to mak > those forfeit who were, in the opinion of the committee, responsible for their games not being played, and Messrs Farrell, McPherson, Ratcliffe, H. Martin, and Hallain wore declared the winners in their respective games. The committee then drew the second round, which resulted as follows:—F. Farrell (9) v. McPherson (12); A. Zachariah (5) v. J. P. Williams (5): W. Ratcliffe (4) v. J. Somervell (8) ; 3. B. Ley do n (14) v. A. Sawyer (2); H. Martin (10) v. B. Hird (2); P. Hallain (4) v. D. Hepburn (7); W. H. Douglas a bye. It was decided that the sccoud round must be completed by Thursday. April 29th, or such will be forfeited. In the competition for the Douglas Feathers, entries for which closed yesterday afternoon with 23 entrants, the first round was drawn as follows: E. Cussen and J. -J. Martin (sk.p) v. J. Jcune and M. A. Neill (skip) ;H. Anderson and M. G. Nasmith, junr. (skip) v. W. Bruce and W. O. Sheet (skip) ; D. W. McSkimming and J. Colley (skip) v. A. Zachariah and W. D. Douglas (skip); H. Martin and W. J. P. Ganelin (skip) v. W. McPherson and VY. Ratcliffe (skip); V. Hooper and P. Hal]am (skip) v. T. McConnell and D. Hepburn (skip); F. Farrell and C. J. Bennett (skip) v. W. Edwards and A. Sawyer (skip); W. Hay and J. P. Williams (skip) v. J. B. Levdon and M. G. Nanisith, senr. (skip). It was decided that tho first round must ue completed hr Thursday, April 29th, o r forfeited. Conditions were drawn up for the Feathers to come into operation when the final of the present competition was decided. The holders will ho open to a challenge at any time on one week s notice being posted on the not me board , the challengers t-o deposit one smiling each with the Match Committee; no challengers shall issue a fresh challenge until the holders have been challenged by some other pair; the holders shall not bo challenged more than once in any one week; and the holders shall bo responsible for tho safo keeping ol tho Feathers, which are to remain the property of the club. It was resolved that all competitors for the Bennett Cup be requested to complete their games at an early date, and that notice would be given shortly that all unplayed games in this competition would be forfeited.
