TOM MANN’S TRIAL
LABOR PROTEST AGAINST A CHANGE OF VENUE.
THREAT TO PARALYSE INDUSTRY United Press Association— Copyright (Received April 13, 11.15 p.m.) .SYDNEY, April 13. The Labor Congress, representing 100,000 workers, passed a resolution protesting against- the change of venue in Tom Mann’s trial to Albnrv. A deputation to the Premier was appointed, Mr. Bowling, delegate for the Newcastle miners, who moved the resolution, indicated that if the Premier did not do what- they consider right, something else would be done. He believed the only power the workers had to-day was that of paralysing industry. Ho had not advocated that, hut if other means failed they must try the. last reso rt. [Tom Main), the English Socialistic agitator, was committed for- trial tor alleged compli.eity.Ju the recent Broken Hid strike riots.*]
