THE INQUEST

NAPIER, April 15. An inquest was held , this morning, before Mr. H. W. Brabant, coroner, on tho late Claudius Walter Cato, who died yesterday as tho result of a revolver shot. Constable Hodgson stated that he had searched the clothing of deceased and found two promissory notes, a telegram, and a memo, relating to money matters. It was signed “Cook’ffi” Auckland, and stated “.Bankwires your cheque not provided for, reply.” "The Coroner returned the foliowffi'o- verdict —“That the. deceased died frmn tho effects of a bullet wound, which wound traversed the brain] and was inflicted by himself.”
